Karachi is continuously facing militancy at its height since the war on terror started in Asia. Terror attacks, target killing and bomb blasts, all refer to various forms of terrorism and all of these terms are not alien to anyone living in Karachi. Karachi was not made only for the Muslims only but now it seems so because of the daily incidences of social & religious radicalism. The idea behind Pakistan was to make a secular country on the lines of Islamic ideology; however with the passage of time and the way the events took the country, the core ideology was lost. All the core issues like corruption, political insensibility, terrorism and murders highlight the name of this country on the international level as a homeland of corrupt & dishonest people.
The problem of terrorism in Karachi has grown rapidly in the last few years because of freedom of media, which presented fake scholars and religious extremists pretending to be sincere with the nation. As a result, the credibility of a modern country deteriorated, resulting in less security and lowering living conditions. Root causes of the terrorism that are prevailing in the Karachi are following.
•Religious Terrorism
•Social Terrorism
•Political Terrorism
Religious Terrorism:
•Attacks on the non-Muslims
•Violence in the name of religion
•Media’s extra involvement in the religion by presenting counterfeit scholars which people trust on whose views and guidelines the society at large acts.
All above facts show the dark side of religious Pakistan. There are severe threats to the Pakistan internal security and stability that it has to face in the name of religious rights & freedom. The event of “Lal Masjid” is one of the exact examples of the religious extremism. Another threat to Pakistan is the “Jihadi Tanmzeemen” like Taliban and it is because of these extremists i.e. secret agencies of NWFP that Pakistan is being called as a terrorist country.
Social Terrorism:
Social Terrorism refers to the thinking process, way of perceiving different things and the actions that are the building blocks of any society. Pakistanis overall are very conservative and they have their own interest and preferences. A large section of the society does not bother about the country and don’t have feeling of patriotism. One of the major causes of the masses turning around like this is high rates of inflation, economic instability and intertwined family structure. There are also some areas where people feel it pride for them to kill their enemies, they don’t care about laws and orders of the state.
Political Terrorism:
The worse part of Karachi package of problems is its political authorities, who are masters of corruption and extremely self-seeking people. Political personality’s ion this country believes on just bogus claims and to criticize others and don’t feel their responsibilities against their authorities and positions. It is well known that who are responsible for the target killing in Karachi, are against the singular solidarity of Pakistan and want its various institutions to clash amongst themselves, but nobody has the courage to take action against them. Causing an overall role in the rise of Terrorism in Karachi, however, firm actions still wait to be acted upon.
